A Holistic Approach to QTBIPOC Embodied Pleasure and Resistance • QPM Virtual Workshop
Embodiment: The physical or felt sensory experience of being in the body and the social implications associated with the identities one holds while navigating the world in their body.
In this virtual workshop, we will:
- Explore embodied pathways to pleasure and resistance for QTBIPOC
- Build an understanding of embodiment as a study and lived experience
- Practice strategies to uproot harmful messages related to QTBIPOC
- Integrate techniques to improve embodiment and belief in your pleasure-worthiness
This workshop is scheduled for Thursday, November 21 at 7:00 pm ET. It will be recorded and made available to ticket holders for 30 days after the event.
This workshop is led by Natalie Malone! Natalie (she/her) is a counseling psychology doctoral candidate at the University of Kentucky and advised by Dr. Candice Hargons. Her research focuses on Black women's sexual/reproductive health and holistic wellness. Additionally, Natalie is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher who integrates complementary health approaches and embodiment practices into her research, clinical services, and consultation. In 2022, Natalie launched her wellness business, NJM Offerings (www.njmofferings.com).
Her professional experience includes clinical work in numerous mental health settings (e.g., community mental health, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, private practice, university counseling, and residential treatment), community-based participatory action research and outreach, and federally funded project management. Natalie is a published author with 38 publications in scientific journals and textbooks. Additionally, she is a celebrated speaker with over 20 presentations domestically and internationally.
